Sometimes, it seems that the way adolescents think today is demonstrating a larger generation gap than therepicture of bridge ever was.  Stop for a moment and ask yourself if you've worked to build a bridge between your views and those of your teen.  Are you seeking to understand your teen better, as well as be understood better by her/him?  Adolescents will often be willing to make an attempt to walk with you if given the opportunity to meet in the middle.
