Technology today has gotten so complex that many parents feel out of touch with what's going on in their teen's world. It is very important to keep up with the times, now more than ever, as adolescents are exposed to a variety of risks that they are not likely to recognize as dangerous. If you are not computer literate, there are resources out there that make learning these things easier than you think. You can also hire a tech that can do the job for you. Make it your mission this month to learn more about things like Internet shorthand, texting abbreviations, MySpace, instant messaging, and tracking history. Consider talking with other parents for support and information. There are online parenting forums and numerous sources of information to help you. Don't be left in the dark.
