Consider working to learn more about your teen's world view rather than spending your energy trying to force feed them yours. Once adolescents have the feeling that you are truly interested in who they are and what they believe in, they are more likely to reciprocate with at least being willing to listen to your opinion. This mutual respect is what opens the door for open and honest communication, as well as an opportunity for learning the value of open mindedness.
