Acknowledgements and Appreciation for Our Mentors and Friends

October, 2006

by Shannon K. Spellman, M.S.W.

Teenagers are like Autumn for five or more years.  Autumn ColorsThey just keep changing.  Seek out the beauty of their colors as they change before your eyes and minimize your focus on their outrageous  unpredictability.  You were there once yourself years ago.  You may have been more or less colorful in your rebellion but you were there.  Remember the feelings you had and how smart you were then.  Now it's just their turn.  Accept that and see the colors as temporary and as precious as their first few years.
