Raising teenagers can be so challenging and exhausting. They seem to revert to being as demanding as they were as toddlers. The "Why?" question returns in full force to just about everything you request and then the dreaded "Why not?" to everything you deny is also an everyday challenge.
It's easy to feel frustrated and overwhelmed by their seemingly constant challenges. It helps to view them as entertaining and to smile at them rather than express your frustration. They are just doing what adolescents do, just like toddlers do what toddlers do.
Try remembering what you used to pacify the why's and why not's of your teen at three. Try it again, it might work. Just add a little maturity into the equation.
